Barley is a wonderful, versatile cereal grain with a rich nutlike flavour and a tempting chewy, pasta-like reliability. It is high in maltose, a sugar that provides as the basis for both malt syrup and sweeteners. When fermented, barley is used as a part in beer and other alcoholic drinks.
